Adobe is finally giving mobile users the Photoshop experience they've been waiting for.
The company just launched a brand-new Photoshop app for iPhone, packed with many of the design, editing, and generative AI tools from the desktop version. The app syncs seamlessly with Photoshop on the web, letting creatives switch between devices effortlessly. As for Android users? They'll have to wait a little longer—Adobe says it's coming "later this year."

If this sounds familiar, it's because Adobe already had a mobile editing app: Photoshop Express. It's been around since 2010, offering quick edits and social media-friendly tweaks. But while Photoshop Express is more in line with apps like Picsart and Facetune, the new Photoshop mobile app is a different beast entirely.
The free version offers an impressive set of tools, including the Spot Healing Brush, layers, selections, masks, and blending options. Users can also access Adobe Stock assets and integrate their workflow with Creative Cloud apps like Lightroom, Fresco, and Adobe Express. On top of that, the app brings Adobe's Firefly-powered Generative Fill and Generative Expand AI tools, making complex edits faster and easier.
Of course, Adobe isn't giving everything away for free. Advanced features like Object Select, Magic Wand, Content-Aware Fill, Clone Stamp, and the Remove Tool are locked behind a $7.99 monthly (or $69.99 yearly) subscription. This premium tier also unlocks advanced blending modes, color effects, and integration with Photoshop on the web. The good news? If you're already paying for a Photoshop plan, you'll get access to the mobile version automatically.
The launch raises some questions about Photoshop Express, which still offers a cheaper $4.99 subscription. Will Adobe keep supporting both apps? With competition from Canva's AI-powered tools, Adobe's move to reboot Photoshop on mobile makes perfect sense. Photoshop Express was fine for quick edits, but it never truly felt like Photoshop. This new app, however, is the real deal—bringing pro-level editing to your fingertips, literally.
