Instagram Drops 10k Follower Requirement for Adding Story Links

Instagram (IG) just keeps surprising us lately.
You never know what's up their sleeves these days. Last week, they gave us the
long overdo ability to post content via desktop, and now they're
expanding sharing links in stories to everyone, and we are super excited about that.
When IG introduced linkable stories, it was only for those with over 10k followers or verified accounts. IG announced that any sized account (less than 10k followers) can now enjoy sharing links in their stories.
The company wanted to empower creators, families and friends, and businesses with small followings to have the ability to share links in their stories.
This will undoubtedly boost your stories' reach with more fans. It'll create seamless experiences for users to click links and boost conversions wherever that link takes them. Here's how you do it, just in case you want to get started right away.
- Record your content or upload it as a story.
- Choose the sticker tool at the top of the navigation bar.
- Press the "link" sticker option, enter the URL and tap "done."
- Simply place the sticker on your story, customize colors if you wish, and publish your story!
Now here's the "fine print," so to speak, about IG letting any account have the ability to share stories with links. New accounts or accounts that repeatedly violate IG's community guidelines and post offensive or hateful material won't have access to this feature.
We can't have malicious accounts ruining something so awesome so early, so let's not mess this up, everyone. If you don't see linkable stickers on your account yet, don't worry.
You can submit an appeal if you think IG made a mistake, and to
understand what's going on with your account, click here to read their blog for more information on what to do.
Happy posting!
