Instagram Lets You Stop the Presses for Errors

Any social media manager or content creator knows things aren't always perfect. You work hard to get it right, to avoid errors, and to upload the perfect content, only to look at it once it's gone live to find errors, wrong links, misinformation, and all sorts of other things that make you look bad, and hey, none of us wants to look bad, do we?
Don't worry about it. When you mess something up, Instagram covers you with a nifty new feature to save your marshmallows from the toaster.
You can "stop the presses" with the
new in-progress cancel upload feature. This isn't a huge update, but a game-changer when needed.
This cool little feature, available in the latest version of the app, introduces the option to squash a Stories upload in mid-process. See something you don't like, notice an error, or change your mind about the content? You can stop the upload immediately.
It's easy to do. A brand spanking new button in the Stories upload flow lets you put the brakes on a Story and prevent its live debut after you've already hit "Share."
This is a hidden gem of a feature that many users aren't noticing and no one is calling attention to, for whatever reason. If we were Instagram, we'd blast it from the rooftops and put it on a flashy billboard. We'd call the neighbors, take out an ad, and email everybody.
You get the picture. If you've embarrassed yourself by noticing errors as soon as new content goes live, you can fix them before they get devoured by the masses.
