Meta is promising some new
surprises for Instagram users. Among the goodies users can expect will be shiny new editing tools for Reels, a Media Clip Hub, new fonts and voices, an audio browser, custom stickers, awesome filters, an easier editing process in Drafts, and improvements to Insights, including a new interactive Retention Chart that will give you a second-by-second viewership.
We know you're as excited as we are, but don't get your hopes up yet. There's no firm drop date; we all know Meta can slowly roll out those great features.
A lot of this is still in the testing phase, but Instagram users should see major improvements in ease of use, focus on flexibility, and an emphasis on creativity.
The new features will save you loads of time editing your videos with new tools like undo and redo, making it easier to manipulate individual clips. You'll also be able to show how brilliantly creative you can be with some awesome new text-to-speech voices and artistic fonts.
You'll be able to find new ways to create "meme-worthy" content with audio clips. The platform is also testing the ability to pull from our clip hub to add clips with audio to your reel. You can play memes and even have your audience join in on the fun of creating a remix for a more interactive experience.
The Drafts update is a highlight of the new features. It will make your Instagram life happier by making it easier to edit your in-progress reels and giving you a streamlined look at your saved drafts. If you get confused about which draft you're working on, no problem because soon you can preview drafts, rename them, and even schedule them in advance.
All of these features will be incorporated to simplify the posting process by making it easier to find the tools you need to edit on the fly.
They're also making some tweaks to help you get a better grip on how your Reels perform with a new Reels metric on Facebook and Instagram called Replays. They've updated the definition of Reels Plays to also include "Replays" in addition to "Initial Plays," which means you might notice increased views in your "Reels Plays."
And, how cool is this? Over the next several months, they will be rolling out a feature allowing creators to see how many people watch their Reels moment-by-moment using an interactive Retention Chart.
Some of these features are available, some are still being tweaked, and some of them have no set release date, but one thing you can be sure of is that Meta is thinking about how to make a better environment for its creators.
