Twitter Is Finally Testing an Edit Button

Well, it looks like Twitter bent the knee to its users' requests and finally started
testing a new edit Tweet feature.
It's only a test for now. But you and Elon Musk shouldn't get too excited yet about it, either.
Twitter's team is currently testing the Edit Tweet button internally and will extend the feature to verified users in a few weeks.
You'll soon see edited posts coming out on Twitter showing the pencil icon and a timestamp. Users have 30 minutes to make any edits to their posts, and you'll be able to view the editing history.
Twitter says the editing feature will help fix typos, missing hashtags, and more, but they believe it'll help minimize misinformation.
The limited time for editing a Tweet is to "help protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said."
Twitter is testing it out in small groups to get feedback, resolve issues, and learn how it could be misused.
We'll just have to see how the Edit Tweet button pans out. Hopefully, it makes fixing posts on Twitter easier and not for spreading fake news by editing original Tweets — you never know!
