If you've ever found yourself scrolling endlessly through a WhatsApp chat, desperately trying to piece together a conversation, you're not alone. The messaging giant is finally working on a feature that will make sense of the madness: threaded replies. Instead of hunting down scattered responses, users will soon be able to view all replies to a specific message in one dedicated thread. That means less confusion, fewer lost messages, and an overall cleaner chat experience.

Phone Screen Showing WhatsApp Chat
This new feature was spotted in WhatsApp's Android beta 2.25.7.7 update by WABetaInfo, a site known for uncovering WhatsApp's upcoming features. Right now, it's still in development, so don't expect to see it in your chats just yet. But when it does roll out, it's expected to work across individual conversations, group chats, communities, and even channels—though WhatsApp is still ironing out the details on how replies in channels will function.

A sneak peek at the feature, courtesy of WABetaInfo, shows a full-screen pop-up that organizes replies in a thread, allowing users to tap on any quoted message and see all responses in one place. The only catch? The original message that started the thread might not appear within this view, which could be a bit of a head-scratcher. Still, the ability to instantly track a conversation without wading through hundreds of unrelated texts is a game-changer.

As of now, there's no official word on when threaded replies will be available for everyone. WhatsApp hasn't provided a release date, but given the scale of this update, it's clear they're taking their time to get it right. For those who frequently use WhatsApp for coordinating group plans or digging through past messages, this feature could be a lifesaver. Until then, we'll just have to keep scrolling and hope for the best.
